Episode 3

dramatically delicious
Springhill is pretty much a British Soap Opera and its certainly dramatically delicious. This show has it all. There are elements are intrigue, a little shady romance, and even some paranormal elements to make things spooky. The Springhills are a family with a lot of secrets. They are raising their five children and everything is great until the mysterious Eva moves in. Its obvious they don't really want her around but they're afraid to turn her away. Like most soap opera families, there is a lot of turmoil between them and every one is out for themselves. Though at some points, its gets a little corny and the acting can be over the top, like any other soap opera, Springhill, its addicting and hard to stop watching. Who is Eva really? What does she wants from the Freemans? And will everyone survive until season 2?

A bundle of characters with baskets of baggage
Soap fans will devour. Family dynamics in this series gutter endlessly. Soap opera that's scandalously rude. There is suspense due to an unexplained relationship between a stalking Eva and the Freeman family of Springhill. Nick, Sue, Anthony, Trish, & John Paul live in the home of Jack & Liz Freeman. That's about the only thing ordinary about this family, but it turns abnormal quickly. It's a family with a mid-life crisis. Each member has their own agenda and often clash. A family soap opera with romantic relationships up & down, and family closeness fickle. John Paul, 13-yr-old priest intended, is the sanest of the lot.
It's not the Waltons!
It's like a ten hour movie storyline but divided into 26 short episodes, each adding to the peculiar dysfunction. They're addictive. You do get hooked on following all the characters.

SDH SUBTITLES included as an option.
1. Catholic Liverpool Freeman family buries its own.
2. Liz unloads her fears of grief & Eva...

like no soap opera you've seen before
I agree with the 2 reviews that put this drama into a soap opera group only because of the continuing storyline but that is the only similarity to a soap. The plot starts off really strong but quickly turns into a mess with everyone going in a different direction not knowing what they really want once the secret is out and with an ending that has you asking what happened to 2 characters who apparently fell off the earth. Unless there is a season 2 we will never know what became of them.
We start out with a nice Liverpool family that has a dark secret that only 4 people are privy to, Liz,Jack, the local priest and Eva. Eva Morrigan shows up after a 15 year absence and starts trouble. She is not going to keep the secret and slowly goes after each member of the family that Liz and Jack Freeman have tried so hard to protect from her. She is part villian, witch and devil. After she gets her hands on the three oldest children she claims Liz stole from her she turns there lives upside...
