A special doc
This film allows moments to unfold and let's us get to know the characters, the people at the center of these issues. It's not the kind of documentary filled with interviews with experts, it's cinematic and character-driven. A beautiful film. Worth seeing not just if you're interested in China but in the struggle we all have to be noble or self-driven.
A fascinating documentary
"High Tech, Low Life" is a moving and captivating documentary. It depicts the successes as well as struggles of two Chinese bloggers who write on matters that the state media will not report. It is quite sad to see the pressure and sometime loneliness they have to face in their attempts to do the right thing, to follow their conscience. I've seen some other reviews that state the film does not explore all of the complexities of censorship in China, but I regard this objection as unrealistic. Highly recommended!
A must see for doc lovers
A beautiful film that gave me a fresh new perspective on the lives of average Chinese citizens and the state of the media in China. Really compelling characters doing amazing things!
