Heartland: The Complete Third Season

This purchase was extremely disappointing. I purchased the DVD set based on price and did not realize that this vendor should not have even been listed on a US website as the DVDs they sent me are not even compatible with US DVD equipment. They are in Scotland. Seriously ridiculous...

BUYER BEWARE, Please Read On! (5 Stars For The Season Itself)
First off I already own seasons 1-5 that I purchased on eBay, and I wholeheartedly give a 5 star rating for each season! The main reason for this review is to give a heads up for potential buyers, because I'm seeing 2 different problems/complaints in these reviews.

First, if you are in North America, make sure the disc you are buying states "NTSC (or Region 1)". If it says PAL (Region 2), you dvd player likely won't be able to play it (unless it's region free). The covers will be different than the original Canadian releases, and will likely have a triangle or round rating on the front cover.

Second, if there's an orange bar across the top of the cover that states "GMCTV/UP TV" that is the US release, and is NOT the true "complete season"-- as aired in Canada on CBC network!

Here's the deal with GMCTV/UPTV. Because the US will always be behind in the way they can air seasons here (which is about a season and a half behind CBC, the Canadian network...

Heartland: A place of love for Family, horses and friends
Heartland is a wonderful series about a family that lives on a ranch in Canada. The family has its ups and downs but their love for each other and the horses they care for is remarkable. The title sums it up. They really do have a heart for their family, home and the horses and animals they work with and care for.The scenery is breathtaking! The characters are great! Each one does a tremendous job portraying their role and the Grandfather, Jack, is super as he adds real heart and humor to the show. It's a story you can relate to and each episode keeps you wanting more. I recommend this series for families. Be sure to start at the beginning as the story unfolds with each episode.

Firefall: An Epic Family Adventure BluRay

So much FUN!
I loved the movie. It has great scenery, fun plot, and great family values. I'd watch it over again just to see the handsome studs in the kilts!

I watched this film in the theater, it is without a doubt one of the funniest films I've seen in my life. buy it, watch it, you'll love it.

Ultraman: Series One, Vol. 1

Ultra-pleased! And if you want to be, too, watch it in Japanese!
There sure are a lot of mean-spirited know-nothings out there, judging from the semiliterate 1-star reviews this puppy is racking up. It's almost as if they liked the craptacular bootleg versions of this that were floating around before...

Look. This isn't absolutely perfect. The dub version has some pretty distracting audio problems, but they're transitory, and I am 99% certain it was the best they could do at the price-point they wanted to be able to offer. Could they have cleaned up the audio? I'm not sure, but I bet if they did the whiners would be whining that the set cost $75.00.

People are complaining about how it sometimes drops into subtitled Japanese--this is so that you can watch THE WHOLE EPISODE, for the first time ever in the US. The US version was previously heavily edited for time. And this simply illustrates my point, to wit:

Not perfect - but THRILLED that it's finally available!!!
Ok, first off, I have to respectfully disagree with the bad reviews here re: quality of this release. After reading them, and then buying the set, I was pleasantly suprised when I popped it in the dvd player. The video quality is very good (without question better than any of the three different bootlegs sets I've seen) and the audio dub is, well, pretty good. Was the audio totally restored and cleaned up? No, I don't think so but it doesn't sound overly noisy (again, especially compared to bootlegs). I have the Japanese laserdisc set and I also have the Japanese DVD box set that was fully remastered (video and audio [only in Japanese though - no english dub or subtitle included]). The picture quality on the Japanese dvd set is amazing but this set looks pretty d*mn good...AND this set has the english dub and subtitles! AND it's very affordable! For $20, packaging is great, as are the menus and booklet. If you're an ultraman fan, should you buy it? ABSOLUTELY!!

Great show, not a great DVD
Like many others I've waited a long time to see Ultraman again and am thrilled about this DVD set. It's a great show, just the way I remember it... in fact it's funnier than I could have realized back when I was a kid. Several of the shows are downright magical especially 'The Rambunctious One From Space.' The writing in this particular show is funny, touching and sometimes just scary enough for kids. Great family viewing or wonderful if you're just into the kitsch of it all.

For new fans thinking about getting this set: you're about to see the origins of Power Rangers and other similar shows. Only the original Ultraman is the king of the genre and never successfully imitated.

For anyone reading all of the harsh reviews, be aware that bootleg versions of these shows are NOT better. It is true that the sound on this set is often poor but it is the best we're going to get. And the fact that it includes the original Japanese language track (and subtitles) puts it...

Bike-O-Vision Cycling Journey- Costa Brava, Spain (#24)

Costa Brava dreamin'...
I loved this one so much I have now bought three so far- one for myself, one for my niece for getting into shape and one for my friend who's thinking of traveling there. Not to sound too gushy, here, but I really didn't think there were any roads that resembled California's big sur enough to compare it- I love it!!! Its even sunny like Cali!
The one drawback to this one may be that it has less variety than some of the others: its mostly switchback mountain roads with awesome views of that deep blue Mediterranean Sea. Which would be perfect for a more dedicated cyclist than myself... Oh, wait- there are about three towns (?) that give it some character and you do stop at a couple beaches- one sandy and one rocky, so I wouldn't dream of giving it less than five stars.

Dino King [Blu-ray]

(3.5 stars) "Dino King 3D: An Amazing Adventure" is an exciting and enjoyable dinosaur film for the family
In recent years, Korea is starting to attract new audiences internationally to its animation, manwa (Korean comics) and its pop culture, may it be music, film or dramas continue to have a large following worldwide.

But one area that Korea is typically not known for worldwide is its own all-CG animated films. In 2012, Dream Search C&C, Inc., EBS and Olive Studio, Inc.announced their animated film "Speckles the Tarbosaurus" which opened in theaters in Korea in January 2006. Originally based on a three-part documentary series that aired back in 2008, the series received high ratings for Korea's EBS (Educational Broadcasting System) and so, a reworking of the film took place and in three years, a CG animated film was created.

Based on dinosaurs found in the Korean peninsula, the film is set during the early Cretaceous period of the dinosaurs and focuses on a Tarbosaurus known as Speckles. The film is narrated by Speckles.

Dino King tells the story of the life of Speckles, a tarbosaur who's whole family is killed by One-Eye(a vicious T-Rex).

I have to admit the English narrative over this story is horrendous. I, too, would have preferred the original Korean vocal narrative with subtitles over the English narrative, anyday. However, every other aspect of this Korean film is top-notch. I loved it and watched it several times over..it's THAT good! Up until now, Disney's Dinosaur and the Jurassic Park series were always my favorite Dino films. I think what I liked most about it was the story. Despite the fact it was geared more towards the younger set, it was the story that kept me watching. It was almost like I was watching it as it was happening.

I'm sure there are other reviewers who've touched on this. Even though this is geared more towards kids, there are moments in the film where adult supervision & guidance is needed. Why? There are several scenes of intense fighting between...

Awesome movie!
i just watched this on youtube and i am very impressed! I love dinosaurs in general and this is one of THE best dinosaur movies i have ever seen. well worth purchasing!

Prosecuting Casey Anthony

Love Rob Lowe and this did a good job on the trial
Rob Lowe was brilliant as Jeff Ashton and gave a real human take on what it's like to throw your heart and soul into getting justice for a murdered child.

Very Enlightening
Good movie to watch. I did learn a few more details about the prosecution's evidence than what was apparent at trial. However, overall the movie didn't leave me with too much more than I got from watching the actual trial. The movie is worth watching though.

Good Movie!
It was very good if you are only interested in watching the trail. For me, I thought they will show us a little bit about Casey and her daughter's life but they did not.
